Best Beefheart Album: Doc at the Radar Station

I don't think it's the best, but I have no problem with anyone who thinks it is.

It's the only album that Beefheart curses on.

It has beautiful unexpected Mellotron bursts.

Like all the greatest Beefheart/Magic Band albums, it contains a seemingly endless supply of musical and philosophical information by which to be inspired and uplifted.

It's a total fuckin' corker.

Lick My Decals Off always seemed to me to be a better more focused version of Trout. The manic energy and sloppiness of Trout is still there, but it seems to be a much more engaging lp on repeat listens.

I do like Clear Spot a lot too.

Of the later lp's, i would go with Doc.

I also like uncoditonally gaurenteed and blue jeans also. But, i know most "purists" hate those lp's. Hell, he even does a JJ Cale cover on one of em', and JJ Cale is the shiznet.

Listen to "Making Love To A Vampire With A Monkey On My Knee":

-"Gnats fucked my ears 'n nostrils"
-"God, please fuck my mind for good this time"
-"Oh, fuck that thing! Fuck that poem!"

I can never tell.

He says "Bad Vuggum."
