As a gear-head, I'm going to say "Not Crap."

Whenever someone mentions "Mesa Boogie," everyone always thinks of Triple Rectifiers with scooped mids.

Of course, they make other amps, and you can always turn the mids up and turn the gain down. The Mark Series are excellent sounding amps that will cut the fuck through a Marshall in the mix. EQ'd right, the Dual Rectifier has some excellent tones, too (note: raise the mids, and stay away from the "modern" gain channel).

Their speaker cabinets, also, are very good.

I'd rather play a DR and have a convincing high-gain tone than play a MXR Dist+ into a Silverface Twin and try to look "cred."

I don't own a Mesa Boogie, but have played several, and seriously considered purchasing a Mark I reissue over my current amp.

Uh, no. I bought a Soldano. I always let out a twisted chuckle whenever I wail on the Soldano at basement shows.
