Fair. I just get frustrated at the focus on Israeli government behaviour while other conflicts and acts of violence oppression get roundly ignored especially on the left. As someone pointed out playing with body counts is kind of dumb.llllllllllllllllllll wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 6:38 pm
A whole lot of shit going on, all of it bad, but the Palestine correlation is still crazy talk.
I do take umbrage in the idea casualty numbers of Iranian protesters are all “Western propaganda”, but Hamas numbers on Palestinians should be taken as accurate. Either way it’s a lot of dead people that didn’t need to be.
But I hope I’m making it clear I’m not excusing the raw stupidity of this war of choice.
I listened to the Haaretz podcast interview with Ehud Olmert which is worth a listen to hear what’s going on in the mind on non insane Israelis. He’s discussed the likely reasoning behind the attack. Which was Israeli initiated because the Iranians had ramped up uranium enrichment after last year and it is blanket Israeli policy that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons in any circumstance. The original plan was likely just hammering nuclear sites again but Donald stepped in and decided to push the stupid button.
There is zero plan for what will happen afterwards. Israeli frankly doesn’t care; an anaemic military, regime change, chaos it’s all a fine option for their strategic position. For Trump is just posting. There’s nothing there. His ridiculous comments like “I want to pick the next Supreme Leader”… just mind blowingly stupid.
Economic pain in the US will end this and likely quickly. Which shows everyone what’s going on in the Whitehouse brain. Zip.
