Back here in DC, TMH, A/C season officially kicked off yesterday as the heat and humidity began walloping the area. A friend of ours who came over to clean out our A/C system said that he'd gotten no less than three phone calls that afternoon alone from people who had turned their units on only to find them not working. Thankfully ours was just full of spiders. The thermostat is set for 77 degrees Fahrenheit, but depending on what floor of this house you're in there is obviously some variance. All threes are more than comfortable however.

Ahh, DC summer. Between your humidity and your pollen index, I could just die. Literally.

totally. summer in chicago can get rough with the heat and humidity. and then add on several more degrees of heat and several more relative humidity percent points, and that's DC. man, my summers there were miserable. well, except when i had working AC. which, at my last place, i didn't. i had cicadas outside the window, which was open with hopes of there being some sort of airflow. but the air doesn't move there, it just hovers, like a bowl of hovering humidity. just like that.

I keep my house at 70 degrees all year 'round. June 1st, the switch gets flipped from HEAT to COOL and stays there until about late September. Programmable thermostats are the shit! You can keep your house at 77 or so while you're at work, and have the AC kick on about an hour before you get home. It really saves a bunch of money on the electric bill. That $20 unit paid for itself twice over in the first month!

once again, try florida. i thought i was dying last year of lung failure, literally. i was hyperventilating for 4 months strait... quit smoking cigarettes, quit smoking weed, and after awhile i was only eating potatos with organic leeks cause i became paranoid of everything... then i found out about allergies and humidity and barometric pressure, which was some relief cause that means i'm not dying and could resume all smoking, but it still sucks. fuck summer! fuck pollen! fuck pets!

I live with my parents, we started using the AC a few weeks ago on and off, but for the last few days it's been on non-stop. My mom always likes to keep the house warm, all year long. 75-80 degrees is what she likes, I do not though. I find anything over 75 uncomfortable. My room always stays close to 80, no matter if the AC is on or not, and it's annoying. It's always 5-10 degrees hotter in my room than in the rest of the house, even when I have my computers off and stuff. I can't wait for winter to come. I love keeping my window open in the winter. There is nothing like fresh cold air, it's so easy to breath.
