Another one that i always found quite stirring was Vengence - New Model Army.

For a stellar disco bass line check out First Choice "Dr. Love."

Next time you hear "Give Up The Funk (Tear The Roof Off The Sucka)" by Parliament, try to focus just on the bass playing.

Not that there's a "great bass line" in that song really, but holy mother of fuh, listen to that bass playing.
