I do agree that this country needs a liberal president. And if we're going to get bush out, we can't really be too picky, so we might have to 'settle' for Dean. I don't know where I stand with him yet. He seems more like the classic politician who's more interesting in pleasing demographics, getting votes, and wanting to "seal the deal" than actually talking about issues. But maybe I haven't heard him speak enough and my opinion will change later on. But he does have that fucking retarded smirk he does all the time, that will be a tough one to get over. anyway, at this moment he is crap.

he's definitely crap. i lived in burlington, vermont and for the most part except for the cool indie scene that's currently popping up, it's crap. he's so far to the left at this point he's not going to win ANY states that aren't on the coasts. there's a whole lot of country who he's not going to be able to sway as he dangles out in socialist world.

plus, how can you elect someone who hails from a state that hasn't seen a marijuana related arrest in like, 20 years. not even for posession! i wouldn't trust him with my drug money.

I would much, much rather have Dean as President than the lying shit-sack currently in office.

Have you actually seen this guy on TV? He's smirky, jerky, stiff, and uncomfortable. He's hard to watch. This is what Americans base their votes on. You can say it's totally unfair and pathetic (it is), or that I'm being cynical or jaded about the political process (I'm not), but these are the cold hard facts of life. There are already stories about how his "anger" is going to work against him, etc. The Democrats are backing the wrong horse.

Personally, I agree more closely with the ideas of the Green Party, but I'll end up voting for a Democratic President come this fall, so as not to waste my vote.

Personally, I like Clark the best, with Dean in a close second. It'll be interesting to see who wins the primaries, since basically all the "top" candidates (in the polls anyway) have been putting all their campaigning into Iowa and New Hampshire for a while now, whereas the others (especially Clark and Edwards) have been focusing on other states. For the top candidates, whoever wins the aforementioned two will get the boost they need to finish strong, but if they can't win any other states... well, that'll be a problem.

but that's just my two cents; and I seriously can't tell whether or not Dean is crap... he kinda looks like he's full of shit, and that smirk makes me want to punch him, but I really like most of what I've heard him say.
if i got lasik surgery on one eye, i could wear a monacle.

Not crap when compared to crappy W, but I think Clark is the only candidate with a chance of beating Mr. Bush. I agree that Dean seems smug and uncomfortable, and in the current "Support the Troops" climate, his lack of military experience is a liability. We need a war hero like Clark who can make Bush look like a draft-dodging pussy.
The Republicans are licking their chops right now hoping Dean will be the candidate so they can paint him as a privileged, socialist-commie blowhard and flay him alive. If the Democrats run Clark, he will attract a lot of moderates and old Ross Perot-type voters as well as the left-leaning Democrats. At this point I just want somebody who can win, so Clark=really not crap.
