AIDS prevention/vaccination/treatment in Africa for example - set me straight if this is wrong - is something that he could be praised for. The foundation isn't peddling this bullshit line about 'abstention', which I imagine hasn't endeared him to Republicans or the Christian right in the US. Should it not be applauded that he's probably doing more (proportionately) than big pharma is?

I don't think Bob is complete wanker. He is an extraordinary individual, who has pulled off some extraordinary coups. He does have an incredibly large gob, though. Saying things like:

doesn't exactly endear him to me. But he is a mercurial and enigmatic man, capable of incredible acheivement, wether you agree with his methods or not. He has even gone as far as to say that he got it wrong the first time round, with Live Aid, and has tried to make amends this time round.

I think that he has shown an ability change and develop, despite still behaving like an overgrown teenager. So, surely not an irredeemable wanker.

I don't think it's right that you limey jerks are dissing Bob Barker, sexual philanthropist and host of America's most popular game show "The Price is Right". Myself an elderly gent, he gives hope to all the old men that one day we may be able to bugger the young ladies, too.
