speaking of mainstream comic strips with good content, what about Boondocks? Foxtrot? RobotMan? Ah, my youth...

foxtrot has always been mildly amusing, rarely rising to any kind of excellence. robotman was good while robotman was actually in it (either that or i was younger and had lower standard)... it's total shit now.

Robotman the character is no longer in the strip called Robotman? What, is the name like just allegory now?

Marmaduke was always very funny, often incorporating Existenialism, Marxism, materialism, religion, and the difficulties of living in the modern world into a one scene lark that was always sure to have me "lol."

As a young Texan, this was a big selling point of the strip for me as well.
