I think the only band that I don't like on the Nightmare Before Christmas bill is The Mars Volta. There is still room for a special guest from NY, so Sonic Youth could still help out. The Locust have opened for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, so hopefully their taste in music is better than their actual music. Sleater-Kinney have also had really good opening acts. I don't even know why I give a fuck. I work at an Italian restaraunt and live in Florida.

personally, i don't think so. they're nice, pretty pop music. but they're sort of lame. they sort of make Lungfish look like Brick Layer Cake by comparison. not that they have anything to do with either of those bands, but that's how pretty and poppy they are.

i think the mars volta fucking blow, but that's just my humble opinion. i know lots of people who are into them. those same people are usually into Greenday.
if i got lasik surgery on one eye, i could wear a monacle.

The Shins do not suck.

I wonder why this 'ultimate mix tape' of festivals (Thurston Moore) is any more attractive than seeing any of these bands on tour in my home city... at least then I can pick the band I want to see.

but guess it's still in development... could turn out to be interesting. I don't see any reason to piss and whine about it. If you don't like the bands, don't go.

edit:

It doesn't seem to me that the 'seminal bands' are intended to do the curating...
