those holes in the tile that Italians consider toilets really freaked me out. We seemed to flood 9 out of 10 bathrooms in Italy if I remember correctly. They sure have a different standard of bathroom water usage than we do. If we have anything over the Europeans, it's our advances in pluming and heating!!!

I think I experienced a new winner yesterday - the men's room at Freret Cafe here in New Orleans. Not only did it smell like it had never ever been cleaned, not only was the bowl a dingy light brown colour, not only was there a faint but unmistakable rotting wood smell, but on top of all that, there was a two way mirror type deal right on the door which enabled people to see in but you couldn't see out. Let me type that again: people could see in but you cannot see out. Good thing no one eats inside there.

I played a gig at the Starship in Downtown Milwaukee sometime in Winter, 1981. We loaded our gear in, and I went into the restroom. It was so cold in the club, the toilet had completely frozen someones' un-flushed turd into a poop glacier.
