You are also correctly. The
Triple Rock is a nice room, and they get a lot of good shows.

Jeremy - Wish I'd seen your post sooner, as it's Saturday night already.
Nevertheless: Triple Rock, Luce, and especially Nye's are all good bets.
Come Sunday, downtown will be a total zoo (Packers v. Vikings). This might be a good day for some record shopping.
The aforementioned Treehouse Records is at 26th and Lyndale South. Kitty corner from that is the fabled C.C. Club.
Cheapo is a little farther south and west, in Uptown (Lake St. and Fremont). Absolutely massive selection, including their vinyl section in the basement.
Back near the hotel, there's Grumpy's Bar on Washington Ave. This is perilously near the Metrodome, but by 5 - 6 PM most of the sportos will have departed, especially if the Vikings lay an egg as usual.

Just watch yourself if you happen to be near the bus station. That place is a war zone.
