Roddy Doyle once said: "there is no such thing as a stupid person." I keep that in mind a lot. I'm aware most of the time if I'm regarding someone as stupid that it's subjective to my relation to them, and that I'm justified in calling them this because it relieves me of the frustration caused by my relation to their actions.
I once made a guy feel a whole better about himself after a party by telling him the Roddy Doyle quote above. Obviously, he was thick as fuck.

i'm unresolved about this...

You shouldn't be, unfortunately most people are totally fucking retarded.

However, the capacity for intelligent behaviour is inert in all of us. Linking this to the Chomsky poll, he argues that therefore we have a moral obligation to create a political society that facilitates maximising every individual’s chances to use this capacity. I would say that society –especially in the US and the UK- encourages people to behave like morons and is by Chomsky’s standards morally reprehensible.

Yes for two reasons.

Not so recent: the last election.

More recent:
I've been noticing more and more people who when talking on their cellphone will take the phone away from their ear, put it up to their mouth like a walkie talkie and shout into it. They then put it back to their ear to listen to the response. This action is repeated over and over.

I don't understand this new cellphone etiquette. I have never had someone tell me they can't hear me while I spoke normally with the cel at my ear.

Most people are idiots.
