They play Trans Am quite a bit too.

He makes me laugh and I am a sucker for his sarcasm. Some of the above criticisms are true, but as a truck driver forced to listen to the radio, espically A.M., all day, he sure is a breath of fresh air, especially when compared to that horrible dullard Tony Kornheiser. Dan Patrick is OK, but Dibbs is more entertaing. Maybe thats the ticket, I am entertained by Jim Rome, not enlightened.

as mentioned, rome does too much of the "hey listen..." type shit in which he lays down the law like "hey listen, strawberry shouldn't do drugs. drugs are illegal last time i checked. come on, daryl, kids watch baseball, put down the pipe." also, the constant puns on his name are an annoyance, the goddam show is already called rome is burning, i gotta think they don't need to inject a new pun into each segment as well.

Jim Rome is probably the best sports interviewer out there, and I have laughed at some of the things he has come up with. A lot of the criticisms people have are valid, though.

It's "Mouthbreather."

Check out this site (http://fusionanomaly.net/jesuslizard.html)It's about halfway down the page under the Goat album.

Those who say that sports fans will receive no true insight from Jim Rome's show are correct.
But those who say that the show is hilarious are also correct. While the long pauses are annoying, the profuse sacrasm very funny.
Plays Fugazi's "Styofoam" as well as Jesus Lizard during interludes.

I know nothing about sports, but I almost applauded at the end of that. This Rome fellow certainly looks like a smug little shit to me.

I'm in the car a lot for my job, and I listen to Jim Rome pretty much every day. I'm not really at all familiar with how he was before he became syndicated, nor did I ever watch this incarnation of his tv show. I can say, however, that you almost never hear him treat his guests the way that he did in this clip. He usually is quite respectful towards the people he has on. I do sometimes feel a little embarrassed that I listen to this show because he spends so much time talking football, which I really couldn't care less about, and he has fairly recently been appeasing the Nascar crowd. I also cringe anytime he says "late," "rack him," and "aaaaasssssssssssss." That said, his anti-soccer rants amuse me, and I still laugh any time he plays that clip of Carl Lewis singing the national anthem. Uh oh!
