From the article in question:

"David Grubbs (snip) was involved in a New York thrash metal project with John McEntire called Bastro.

Um... do you think this guy has actually heard a Bastro record? Or a "thrash metal" record for that matter?

"...the testosterone fueled music of Nirvana"

That's just silly.

Certainly there is anger in Nirvana's music; however, that is neither tantamount nor exclusive to being "testosterone fueled". To this listener, the anger is subordinate to the pervasive sadness. If anything, I'd argue that the anger was a reaction to all things "testosterone fueled".

Whatever...

writing about music is like felching about epidote.

this dude writes on and on about 'post rock' and what it is, but towards the end he sez:
the term "Post Rock" is silly in that it is a label to categorize bands that don't fit into other categories

???

dude! you are therefore wasting your time! being published on the internet is not that great an accomplishment! go play a video game!

my favorite genre of all is 'post.' just 'post.' not post-anything, just post. stuff is post.

can we all agree that 'post' is 'the latest' and 'the greatest,' at least until 'postpost' comes along?

excellent

I had this class where this girl was giving a presentation. I can't remember what it was about.

In the beginning of her presentation she wrote "POST" on the board. She pointed at me and said "What comes to mind when you see that word?"

I said "The mail."

She says "Interesting. You're referring to the dominance of the male in the..." and she goes on for forty minutes about some builshit.

"No," I said. "The mail, like letters and stamps."
