You just gotta drill three holes down the middle of the back of the body and get some quality Grade 8 recessed head bolts to hold the sucker on. If I played guitar...

I had a kramer bass. After i took out the shit EMG pickups and put in Barts, it was the best sounding bass I have ever played, and it was an absolute workhorse, rarely went out of tune, etc. I sold it when I desperately needed money and I had started using my homemade headless bass on stage, but I will have another one. Aluminum is the shizznit.

Never played a Kramer guitar, but I had an aluminum-necked bass back in college for a while. I thought it looked cool, and liked that it was heavy as hell, but I never liked the sound it got. I tried replacing the pickup, but it didn't really do much to help. The problem was the tone of the instrument itself. The E string pretty much always sounded lifeless. I think I paid like $100 or so for it, and traded it a year or two later for the Ludwig kick drum and floor tom I have today- got two rack toms in the trade as well, but they're long gone. Trading away that bass was one of the best moves I've ever made as far as musical instrument ownership goes. It may have just sucked because it was- to the best of my knowledge- the bottom of the line as far as their aluminum-neck basses go.

I've never seen anyone use an aluminum neck Kramer guitar and have it sound bad, but the only person I recall ever seeing use one is doude from Oxes.

I never thought I'd find myself posting about guitars (any way I slice it I can never see myself as a guitarist - I'm beyond hopeless) on a public forum but I own a 1980 Kramer DMZ 1000.

He'll outlast the earth, weighs as much as a man and would be the first thing I'd reach for should I discover an intruder. Drastically underemployed, it forms the main signal source for my mithering ambient wankery and very, very occasionally gets an outing in the tragically unrecorded, one-man kitchen-based punk outfit Who wants a burned potato?

mmm. i dont know. ive got a really early 350g and i have to say it plays real nice and its quite punchy but i find the pick ups just arent that hot at all. its shame because when its at a decent volume its got a tone thats really fucking awesome - it sound like a strat on a speedball session. its just the pick ups could have been so much better. its got to go as well if anyone wants it. good condition with case. not expensive either.

pretty good for a first guitar. totally different than a bean. wide-ass neck. i think it had a radius to the fretboard. sounded pretty good, but not as rock nor as hot as a bean.

there were little wood slats in the back of the neck to give the feel of warmth, and in humidity or the lights of stages, these little wood slats would stick out. that's the only crappy thing I remember about them. oh, and they are fucking ugly.

NOT CRAP.
