Worst Act Perpetrated by Man

Seconds Hiroshima/Nagasaki. As trite as you may consider this to be, I can't remember a time that I had cried about anything besides falling over as a child before I watched a BBC documentary on the events leading to and around the Hiroshima "incedent". I watched that program, and I tried desperately to collate my thoughts, but could do nothing but cry.

Ditto numbers. As I believe Stalin said: "one thousand deaths is just a statistic". What are you going to do about it now, anyway? Cry? Of course these were all terrible events. There's just not much more than can be said.
How can such events be justified? In some cases, certainly, it boggles the mind (or it's straightforward - you can't)

Humphrey, dear - I believe you are correct in the opinion that "the (white) world" seems to be more aware/sympathetic of bad things that happen to people of other ethnicities, and that this is obviously just more racism.
It would be greatly appreciated, however, if you endeared to include a little fibre, or at least an analogy that doesn't work.

Did you ever see the Japanese animated movie, Barefoot Gen, an adaptation of a true story of the days after the holocaust by a survivor who was about 5 years old when it happened? It is one of the gnarliest things I've ever seen.

I think the worst act ever perpetrated by man is the first use of a tool, hundreds of thousands of years ago, that forever convinced us that we could somehow be separate from the things that surround us. From that point on, we were fucked.
If it wasn't for landlords, there would have been no Karl Marx.

oh man....battlefield earth is incredible!

along with pearl harbour this is my favourite film for sitting and howling with laughter. it is amazing that during the production of both these films not one person blinked suddenly, sat up from what they were doing and started shouting "wait a minute! what we're doing is complete shit! we're wasting our lives!"

Yeah, this is not to be overlooked. If the poll were just on the most heinous deeds carried out in US, it could easily be a contender.

As I'm sure you've all heard many times before, there's nothing to restrain George Bush as a lame duck president. I'm amazed he hasn't started more crazy shit already this far into his second term. But some crazy shit will happen well before 2008.

There's still Iran!

Wow, if that isn't the basis for a gay musical romp, I don't know what is.
