the only video games i play are java games on my mobile phone.

at the moment i am playing an incredible game called 'ny nights'. the idea is you are a young twenty-something in manhattan who has to 'make it' in thirty days. each day you have to make sure your character eats, works and sleeps all at the right time or you will lose points like health, beauty, humour, culture etc. there is a little simulated manhattan which allows you to walk around and interact with people or places. a few days ago my 'virtual girlfriend' within the game got a job as a news reporter and had to move to LA. i was so angry thinking that some fucken californian prick was going to enjoy all that crotchless underwear i bought for her....selah.

as a household we used to play multiplayer halo until it became so competitive that we stopped in the name of sanity and friendship. now we tend to play poker instead...

What about Police Quest? That was a great game right there, wasn't it? Make sure to walk around your car before getting in or you are 100% CERTAIN TO GET A FLAT. WTF?!?!

FUCK YEAH!
I completely went back in time when you said this. thanks. holy shit. great reference. you made my day.

I play Intelligence Qube (ps1) on my ps2. as fun as tetris and as addicting. I love this game and it was hard to find.
I play Hot shots golf 4 for ps2. I also like Fight night round 2. my cousin is a programmer for Electronic Arts and worked on this game. It looks great and is fun.
I play games in spurts. I will play in what little free time I have for a few weeks, then not for months. I like to play but I am not that serious a gamer.

I started playing Okami last weekend. I'm only a few hours in, so I might be experiencing an early flush of hyperbole, but it is possibly the best computer game I've played. It is certainly the most beautiful.

The gameplay is easy to get into, the story and characterisation, whilst simple, are beguiling and witty, the sound is marvellous, and the sight is something else. The makers have done a brilliant job of creating a surprising and entrancing universe for the game.

So far, the most rewarding parts of the game seem to be growing flowers, feeding animals and bringing the sun, rather than killing. The key play mechanism of drawing actions onscreen is very intuitive and inventive.

Like I say, early days, but so far I have seen no indications as to Okami being anything other than wonderful.
