Arson Smith wrote:Places I would recommend based on my personal experience (of attending shows, not playing) might include:

- Creepy Crawl (currently relocating though... not sure what the status is on that)
- hi-pointe
- Lemmon's
- The Way Out Club
- Three-1-Three (Belleville, IL)
- VFW in either Fairview Heights, IL or Collinsville, IL

Places I haven't been yet, but they sound like they might be OK to play:

- Radio Cherokee

So - there's that, if it would be of any help to anyone in the future...

don't forget Lemp-Arts!

I love that place. One of my favourite shows we've played.

yet another tour that skips St Louis.......
-sigh-

We've played St. Louis on all three of our tours to the midwest, though only one of the them was at a real venue (Lemp Arts).

The other two shows were at Ryan from So Many Dynamos' parents' house in the suburbs. They were both pretty awesome shows, some of the biggest crowds we've played to on tour.

I'd give Omaha the edge over Lincoln, personally. If you can get the right bands to play, O'Leavers is a blast.

Lincoln has some decent bands but the clubs I've been to there kinda suck.

If you need help with Minneapolis, I can probably help put something together. We've got dozens of great bands here.

Thanks for all the replies, both on this thread and in PM's. I really do appreciate it, and made my coming home from work today a little more pleasant.

Keep 'em coming folks!

Tall Chris: Can you pretty please send me contact info for Ryan from So Many Dynamos?

A vs B: We're not playing Pittsburgh because you assholes stole the fucking super bowl.

Buzzsaw/Arson Smith: We might try to do St. Louis if Charleston doesn't turn out. There's one place in Charleston that we've played at before that we like, but if we can't confirm that, then we'll do St. Louis.

Germ War: Our booker has been in contact with O'Leavers, so we might end up playing there. I'm sure Brian's "Bright Eyes Are Gay" shirt will be a big hit. Jim from the Blind Shake is supposed to be helping us in Minneapolis. Maybe you could help him help us? I dunno.

Thanks to everyone else for your help!

if it's wrong to steal the super bowl, then I don't want to be right
I think we won it fairly, the calling was pretty sketchy, but it's not our fault Stevens dropped 50 passes and hasselback threw right to Taylor on that Int. I don't care that much though. It was so not-exciting, I didn't even really care that we won, despite rabidly following all season.

I have a question. Is there a significance to "contractual obligation" it's a curious name for a tour

Yes. Our label has been bugging us and bugging us and bugging us to tour since our record came out. This is fine, but as some of you are aware, I became a father last year, which makes it really tough for me to be irresponsible. So we're calling this tour the "Contractual Obligation Tour 2006" to stick it (in a loving way, if Chris is reading this) to 'em.

Sounds like you're in good hands, but yeah, you can let Jim know if he runs into any trouble that he can come to me. Sweet.

BUMP: We could probably use some help in Chicago. I know at least one or two of you live there. We've played at the Bottom Lounge before, but have had bad luck trying to contact them this time out. Anyone know of any cool dive bars or DIY spaces?

Any info on where in Baltimore you're playing at?
