Where can one download these songs? Can someone upload some to the gmail? I would prefer a new Sonic Youth record that sounds more like Confusion is Sex or Bad Moon Rising for a change. Oh well.

OK, I'm buying this one. It's a really good album, up there with Murray Street and EVOL for me, at least after a couple of listens. Nothing will top Daydream Nation, though.
Glad to see the HBC namedrop got people gunning for a great band sadly forgotten by most - the SY record doesn't sound like them though. Would be a nice double bill though....

I thought the "official" release was in like June. I can't believe it's been leaked this early.
Anyway, these new ones are all alright. I'll definitely get it, because it is SY. Still kind of disappointed by the lack of wild shit in their new works.

I think this is a really great album, I love it.
Twenty years from now, I'm pretty sure I'm going to remember this summer as the one where I listened to this record over and over.

I really like this record and I'm glad that their over their mid life jam band crisis. However, they should put some more noise back into their music instead of limiting it to "SYRs".
All in all EXCELLENT!
Can't wait to see em with Mark Ibold of pavement. maybe they'll throw in some pavement covers (since Thurston STOLE THEIR TUNING).

RAts.....how bout a rousing recital of "GHOST BITCH"????
oh well, they still rock the fuck out of that stuff live.

What you say? This new Sonic Youths record-album? Where to download? Tell me one of you, and I will celebrates this momentous good release of album with much stealing of songs! So excited I am to hear this record-albums before its intended release date! So good that we can hear this new songs in data-compressed, aliased incarnation! So glad I am to steal from such legendary favorite band of mine, regardless of their need for the monies! I am so happy to accept the release of momentous record-album as dinky-file on computer!
(I'm not anti-MP3, just anti LEAKED-ALBUM. If you're previewing, fine - go buy it when its out. But where's the fun in that?)

oh, and about the "clear channel" tour in 2004... buddy... almost every venue in the US that is of decent size (and lots of small ones) are clear channel now... sometimes it the only game in town that will work out, not to mention half of that tour were fill in dates from the canned lollapalooza tour...

I'm going to buy the album when it comes out, as I always do. Sonic Youth are more than welcome to $16 or so from me once or twice a year, as they have been for years, and since you mention "need for the monies" I assure you that my income is not and never will be anywhere near what theirs is, but I value what they do and am happy to pay them for it. I just wanted to hear the songs ASAP. Chill.

Yeah, I still hate having to give any of my own money to Clear Channel, AKA Total Corporate Right-Wing War-Supporting Media-Monopolizing Evil Inc., if I want to see a particular band, and so do a lot of other people. Sucks for Sonic Youth that literally no one I know went to their Clear Channel show here in 2004. (Our local CC place also happens to suck horribly as a venue compared to the three or four other places of comparable size and booking tendencies that we fortunately do still have in this town, but that's yet another story.)
