the spirit of bon was there because most of it was recorded when he was still alive. he died before they had a chance to add any vocals.

The Neve console at Pachyderm (In Utero) is variously said to have served time at Electric Lady and on the Back in Black sessions. [Maybe -- doubtfully -- both?] This may be a bunch of folklore. It's a 24-channel board, so if the AC/DC rumor is true, I doubt that Back in Black was done on 16 tracks. Albini might be able to settle this one.
