I am biased but Gringo is the first thing to have a look at.
Jonson Family, Obscene Baby Auction, Unlabel, Bird War, Pickled Egg all float my boat also.

fierce panda have always put out a whole slew of crud to fund some of the semi decent things.. for a long while it was just flitting from one major label puddle of funding to the next cf putting out the early singles by such "indie" rock bands as supergrass, the bluetones, etc as well bands like twist, billy mahonie, rothko, lapsus, etc.. However since my band did a split on them, I have to hold my hands up and say that simon does put out all sorts of stuff and it certainly doesn't hurt that the one of the other bands on that record was jimmy eat world.

Riot Season gets my vote. I can't really think of any others who consistently put out stuff I actually like.

Domino? (yes I know they do arctic monkeys and franz ferdinand and are doubtless part of sanctuary or something) but they do put out Hood, Pram, bonnie prince billy, etc.
Domino is still 100% independent.

But it did make most of it's initial £££ licensing records from US labels like Drag City etc, it's a pretty UK-centred label now but it wasn't always that way, regardless of where they are based

Would you want to wade through a thousand Franz Ferdinand knock offs?
