My hometown in Canada passed a law a few years ago that restaurants had to have complete self-enclosed smoking rooms that only people 18 and up could go into. That seemed fine with me. However, they just passed a new ordinance banning smoking altogether. That means for 3 years there were non-smokers staring through the plexiglass, seeing all the people smoke, none of it affecting them, thinking "Those fuckers! I hate them! I don't even want to look at it!"

For two reasons:

1). They do which in turn has made our country (no thanks to this president, though) have much more strict rules on emissions as compared to most countries around the world.

2). Cars don't drive indoors in public places where the exhaust is contained and therefor inhaled by others before it has a chance to dissipate.

Grangle, there are bigger problems--and worse distractions--than people devoting their attention to second hand smoke. Guess you better get on it.

the problem is that all kinds of energy is focused on second hand smoke so politicians can look like they're doing something productive. they really aren't doing much at all.
