It is still playing at the 600 North Michigan cinema, AFAIK. It's the most anti-American American film I've ever seen, like reading a long suicide note from a friend who went crazy. Not to say that I didn't laugh, me and the other guy in the theater.

In response to a post i'm too lazy to properly quote,I wouldn't think it beat you over the head, but once the exposition indicates the world has bred itself half-retarded, it'd be a far departure to "get on with it" without being reminded of the settings. The first 5 minutes has some fun schtick before getting on to the story anyhow.

i didn't say i thought it was stupid. i said it was probably how many felt about it, people who write off comedy, especially somewhat 'cult' comedies when they feel the need to ascend above the tastes of the commoner.
