Most of time I'm not aware it is "Scrobbling." Which means everytime I play that horrible Robert Mitchum calypso record for someone, "What This Generation Coming To?" flies up the charts. In other words, forgive the bullshit amongst the goodshit.

15i used it for a few weeks but 90% of the music i listen to is elsewhere (vinyl, car, ipod) so i just kind of got bored at how it was a pretty inaccurate representation of what i was listening to.
plus, i don't need no gol dern machine to tell me what music i like. good golly.

16last.fm is really fun, only thing is when you are testing out music and that damn scrobbler is on. if the music you are testing out is bad (say, mike patton's last record or mika) you feel kind of ashamed to have it on that thing. i stopped using it for a little bit because of that. anyway: www.last.fm/user/jackiecarlson

I also love Moondog. I've used last.fm on and off for a while. Sort of cool to watch... eh. I can't remember my user name at the moment.

18I get the feeling that Pandora is database driven and only that.
Some of the playlists drift into bizarre territory......like they just scanned the wave of the song and matched playlists to their similar, limited frequency ranges.
I don't like this at all.
So what does Last.fm do that's different?
And, no, I can't be bothered to check for myself.......
[taps corners of mouth with well-folded tip of napkin]

19I'm into last.fm. A surprising amount of people I know are on it. I do get a lot of shit from people for what I listen to, but whatever.

20Okay, I looked at Joe Sepi's profile and it showed that all of his recent tracks were from the same artist. How did he do that? Can you listen to a specific artist's music exclusively or will it only direct you to "similar artists"?
