Dagobah from Boston who put out an excellent s/t CD. The guitarist is now the drummer for Helms.

The drummer is now the drummer for helms.

Dagobah were great. They were from Osterville, on Cape Cod before they moved to Boston, I saw them lots of times at shows on "the Cape".

They shared a member with Robots, who are also worth checking out, as is Helms.

My favorites would probably be Lynx, who put out a record on Box Factory, and Early Humans, who have a handful of split 7"s and a 7-song CD available from Wantage USA.

Ranx, I have absolutely no idea what math is but within your criteria of angular noise, I'd recommend early 80's post punkster pop outfit Big Flame. They released a number of cracking singles and a 10" on Ron jonson records.

Not that obscure I guess, but i'm surprised by the lack of attention and regard for Johnboy on this board. They were true champs of the math. Both albums killed.
I used to have this okay LP by a band called Your Majesty, that was pretty obscure and you might like it if you can find it.
