I used to have a Crumar (forget what model) that was a little glitched out. When you would try to tune it, it would start to break up the signal and turn into high pitched bleeps. Kinda neat every now and then but ultimately it was kind of annoying. Also, I think it would go in and out of tune with itself on it's own.

I dunno John, maybe. It seems like in addition to being about gear, it's about a really technical-type aspect of gear, like the failure mode or whatever. It just seems like the Tech Room doesn't have enough good Tech stuff in it over the past months, and more and more Tech stuff is coming up in the General Discussion forum.
Sorry about the all-caps!

It is true, I tend to totally forget about the Tech Room. I gotta consider factoring it into the whole EA equation more often!
Another thing I thought of: the artist Stefan Betke, under the name
Pole makes some cool, dubby electronic records with a malfunctioning "Waldorf 4 Pole-Filter" (I
think that's how he got his sound, anyway).

My friend had A washing Machine That was dying and it made the best Tribal thumping rhythm i have ever heard. It was a gradual build and then the belt would start screeching. Sounded like a bunch of africans thumping away before they boiled elmer fudd.
I recorded it once and then we layed a bass line and some analogue synth with some shortwave radio. it was wonderful.

Cheapie volume pedals make all sorts of cool sounds over the course of the sweep as they start going south. Combine these sounds with a delay pedal and, let the good times roll.
