I've said elsewhere I'm a fan and I'm sad about hearing this but I (in a slight coincidence that rings appropriate) have just finished reading a book of his, not two days ago, the last chapter of which is called Cheerful Reflections on Death and Dying.

He didn't seem worried.

But I might just go away and shed a tear or two for him anyways.
