I agree with all of that. It was painful.

I might rent a copy with a free rental coupon on a rainy, funky weekend just to say I saw it.

I can never remember whether I have seen this movie, or GOUGE, or both

+1
I tried to watch it when it was on the pitchfork site. I failed, it was too boring.

I tend to like things more than most people around here......that said I thought it was a sad piece of shit. Could have been a motley crue reunion video. Rockers usually age so poorly.
Who wants to see the Pixies struggle to relearn their own songs so they can play them less passionately than they used to. Bleh!

They seemed depressing and desperate. It's worth watching as a cautionary tale, I guess.
I like some of Santiago's scoring stuff and like much of the Breeders. I'm told Charles is a genuinely fun and enjoyable character. I have no idea if the movie is an accurate portrait of them or an accurate portrait of them bored out of their minds on the road and at bad points in their lives.
I guess being in the Pixies is a good job, but I'd rather watch a film about the guy who has to clean grease traps at all of the branches of Casper's Hot Dogs. Given the same amount of time following him around I would guess you could get a pretty good film out of it. Maybe not as many fan reaction shots, but I'm sure there'd be some. Plus I'm sure he wouldn't feel like his best days were behind him like an anchor he has to drag around.

Yep, it's pretty boring. One good bit is the first warm up show they play after the reunification. Those first chords to 'U-Mass' and the audience going apeshit. That's a cool moment. The drummer seems like a character.

I liked it for the same reasons I liked Some Kind Of Monster.
