Bandwagonesque, speaking as someone who is not a big pop rock fan, this is the best pop rock album i've heard.
Chavez to me isn't really pop, but it's got a ton of catchy hooks. Great 90's rock band.

People Get Ready is a fine addition to any garage rock collection. They are great live. I saw them at the Empty Bottle and they had the
entire place dancing (a large feat, I assure you).
Starlight Mints are in that sorta Pavement category: quirky pop. I wouldn't say they sound like them, they just have a fun atmosphere to them. I suppose the closest thing to them would be Beulah (though I think Beulah is pretty boring).
I don't know much about The Walkmen, but everytime I hear a song when I have my iTunes on shuffle and think, "this is pretty good," it tends to be the Walkmen.
