I wasn't trying to be obscure. Each of those has been ALL OVER pop/r&b radio (which I used to listen to a lot while driving) at one time or another. Honest.

edit: Madonna in the early 80s, too: "Lucky Star," "Holiday," "Get Into The Groove," "Burning Up." Just ask Mike Watt.

No, I wasn't really implying that. I just haven't been around much in the last thirty years, it seems. Or the last few years, anyhow.

I think I saw something like that around here recently. Did someone say "Maneater"?

The video for 'Brick in the Wall', in it's day, freaked me a bit. When was that? Was that really in '79? Shouldn't be showing stuff like that to kids...

There's so many, but here's a few of my faves:

What's Goin On - Marvin Gaye
Superstar - Carpenters
I'll Take You There - Staple Singers
Walk Away Renee - Left Banke
(almost anything) - Sly and the Family Stone
Town Without Pity - Gene Pitney

Sunny Afternoon, Waterloo Sunset, End of the Season, Shangri-La, etc. - Kinks

Son of a Preacher Man - Dusty Springfield
I Only Have Eyes for You - Flamingos
Care of Cell 44 - Zombies
So Good to See You - Cheap Trick

Oh wait, some of these are more than 30 years old. I lose.

P.S. I am a fan of old pop music, but I beg to differ that most pop music more than 30 years old is good.
