Unlike the rest of Metallica, which is just painfully shitty, "Temptation" at least made me giggle.

Wow. Holy crap. That's... why would someone even let themselves do that? Wouldn't one stop and say, "wait, I can't play this shit at all"?
Of course, one would also, I assume, stop and say, "Wait, I can't sing either."

You ever just stood there with your guitar on high-gain, and kind of just scraped the strings a bit with the tip of your fingers while trying to think of a note/chord?
That's when you are being overtaken by St. Anger.

Funny that the subject of this thread ended up being Metallica... when I first saw the title and was trying to think of what the worst moment would be, after a while I came to think that maybe it was when Cliff Burton died. That's really what fucked Metallica into what they became. He was the personality that kept them what they were, and from becoming what they became, I think. So that's my vote: when Cliff died.

come on, there are far worse moments in rocque moozic than that. there are even worse songs on St. Anger, such as the title track, which is a godawful splatter of bullpatoot.

It sounds like a dumbed down version on Tom Waits' "Temptation"

The minute I plugged in my first guitar and started to play - it was one of the less worthy minutes in rock history.
