Never heard this band. I guess I'll look them up.

They might've taken their name from a 60's Teen film called "Teen-Age Strangler". The gang of drag-racers was called The Fastbacks.

It does, indeed. It's also a cover (Montrose).

I had a few minutes this afternoon, so I put together a Fatbacks sampler (mix of mp3s and m4as) from their entire career:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/rrpmyg

1. Wrong, Wrong, Wrong (from . . . And His Orchestra)
2. K Street (from . . . And His Orchestra)
3. My Letters (from The Question is NO)
4. Impatience (from The Question is NO)
5. Believe Me Never (from Zucker)
6. Gone to the Moon (from Zucker)
7. On the Wall (from Answer the Phone Dummy)
8. I Found the Star (from Answer the Phone Dummy)
9. Meet the Author (from Answer the Phone Dummy)
10. One More Hour (from some comp)
11. Fortune's Misery (from New Mansions in Sound)
12. Which Has Not Been Written (from New Mansions in Sound)
13. No Information (from New Mansions in Sound)

Enjoy!

Take Kurt Bloch out of the mix and they are just The Muffs. Maybe uglier. Still, not crap because Kurt is so fucking entertaining to watch. But I like the Young Fresh Fellows a hell of a lot better.

I shall, thanks.

I saw you posted that "Happy Halloween" Nirvana show on your blog. I remember paying like 45 bucks for a bootleg of that show back in high school. I wish that entire video would somehow see a release. Thats awesome you were there.

One of the few bands that I'd consider totally not crap although I never really listen to them. A bit poppy for my tastes, but they do it right.
