"Atlas" is BY FAR the worst track on the record.

Helmet wrote a great song. Then Helmet rewrote that song several times over which was bearable at best. Then Helmet tried to write a new song and sucked. Fuck you Gramsci!
Don Caballero went from good to shit as soon as Mike Banfield left.
Robert Pollard should have stopped well over 10 years ago because then maybe I could hear a Guided By Voices song and not want to punch myself in the throat.

A quick watch of that confirms I can probably live happily without it.

Damn, Battles is one of my favorite bands. Maybe my favorite band to start up in the past, let's say, five years. Ten even. Maybe.
But what is this shit? Where's the bad-ass? I just see a bunch of dudes pretending to rock out in a mirror room. Shit's boring. Song: Boring. Video: Perfect for the BORING song.
I'll still try to see their tour, though. I just hope they play SZ2. That's definitely my favorite 9 1/2 minutes of recorded music in the past ten years.

seth who posts here as "spaghetti lee" recorded that. he's a swell guy. the studio he records at in pawtucket (just north of pvd) is very nice. i recorded some stuff for my film there in august and january. i'd like to hear this record but i think i'll see them live first.
