The only trems that work well enough not to be a pain are Steinberger, Kahler, Floyd-Rose and their ilk

So wrong. Those piece-of-shit locking-nut horrors are not even worth mentioning.

The best vibrato arm (And it is a vibrato, not a "tremelo") are Fender Jazzmaster units, and the piece-of-bent-metal as found on old Gibsons.

It depends on your playing. I use the vibrato on my Jazzmaster, because it's there. If it wasn't there, I wouldn't miss it. As an effect, the usability is limited.

Well considering on a Floyd, there are microtuners that are easily nudged out of tune, then yes that can be a problem. However since I am not a Floyd fanatic, I screwed all the microtuner thumbscrews all the way in so they can't go out. It's not going to be an issue on the Ric vibrato though, no thumbscrews. Gosh that is a pretty bearing assembly on there.

gotcha, thanks.

yeah, it seems pretty elegant, doesn't it?

the bridge, just looks like they beveled the standard bridge and added the bearing mechanism. pretty simple, and probably won't be this giant hunk of metal (like a bigsby) just sitting there, being all ugly.
kerble is right.

I do not think you are very wrong here. I think you speak the truth.

Very true. My band-mate ordered his Electrical a while back with a Bigsby. My reaction? "A Bigsby?!? Are you fucking kidding me?!?" I would NEVER get a guitar with a Bigsby, or for that matter, any other type of tremolo setup. And at first I was going to give him major shit for that, but after thinking about it I decided "No. You know what? That's just the type of guy he is. All of his guitars have tremolos! Why should this one be any different?" You either are, or you're not.

I'm thinking you're not. Don't get it.
Oh, and fuck Mars Volta.

Why are they not worth mentioning? Other than being fugly, expensive, a pain in the ass, and only coming on gae metal guitars, I don't see a damn thing wrong with them.

I mean, if you're into doing divebombs and shit, they get the job done.
