Santiago from the Pixies? I think he mostly played Les Pauls with the regular bridge setup.

Occassionally, some whammy-like bits do come up in individual Pixies songs, though.

In the Surfer Rosa version of Vamos, for instance, there is some crazy-ass sound during the noise break "solo," I have no idea how he made it, but it sounded like you'd need the bar.


BTW: What songs does Greg Sage use the whammy on? In all the photos I've ever seen of him, he had a regular SG.
