You are to be piss in the ear! So lames!

As I said, it's not to my usual taste. I'm looking at it as another form of torture.

It probably won't be AS BAD as when I saw Dave Matthews at Alpine Valley. I hated that(I knew that going in), and I couldn't just leave in the middle of it if I found it too torturous. Th only way I got through that was by drinking heavily, and trying to pass out on the blanket spread out on the ground. And that was difficult, since Alpine Valley is on a slope. If you fall asleep, there is a very real possibility of rolling down the slope.

My wife likes this idiot's music, and I can vouch for it's horribleness. Really, really bad. The Grace Kelly track is the best track of the album by a factor of about 1000.

You poor bastard.

I found myself humming or whistling one of the tracks of the cd after my girlfriend played it while driving. My girlfriend heard, said "A ha, you like it!". I thought to myself, NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!. I am truly fucked!!!!

This is the real danger here: not the potential torture you'll endure, but the chance that you'll come away from this gig, saying and meaning,

"Well, I went in there prepared to hate it but boy! Was I ever surprised! Some of those songs were real catchy, and that kid can sure put on a show!

"Not Crap!"

However I agree that it probably will not be as bad as Dave Matthews Band.

From Saturday's Guardian magazine:

Meanwhile, Mika, who is 23, is explaining why America has shown such interest in him. I have heard pop stars talk of themselves in the third person, but Mika takes it one step farther. He refers to himself as the "project".

"There's something about the project that seems to connect a lot of people in the American media," he says. "It's a pop record that they can relate to sonically. At the same time, it's seen as an Anglo record, but it's not alienating in that Anglophile kind of way that a lot of English projects can be when they come over to the States."

Mika's songs are horribly infectious - like a bad flu. "I keep singing Lollipop," I tell him, "and I really don't like it."
