There's a tiny town in eastern Ohio named Cadiz, which is pronounced "Kaddis." It confounds anyone not from eastern Ohio.

And Bellfontaine is pronounced "bell-fountain."

There are lots of French city names in Wisconsin. We have a "Beloit" that is pronounced with a hard "T" at the end, like "Buh-LOYT." But sometimes i like to be a douchebag and pronounce it "Bell-WAH."

Remember last year when the Super Bowl was played in "Day-TWAH?"
