The best feature of Soulseek is that if you find something obscure, you can browse people's directories directly and usually find more from the same genre or artist.
It's weakness (not good for huge files, one download stream at a time) is actually an asset - slow but sure.

This is it, for popular shit I'll look to torrents, but for the music I'm going to be likely to want, it's got to be Soulseek. I spent yesterday listening to the complete Lungleg back catalogue, which I doubt will have turned up on any torrent sites (I don't know how sites like Oink are, maybe I'm just not a member of the right sites), but which I got ages ago from Soulseek. Not having to rip all those sevens and so myself was a great convenience.
Soulseek is also great for searching '-band name- live', and coming up with odd stuff I would not otherwise have found.

Yeah, maybe it doesn't like shit, old computers cos it did the same thing to my flatmate. it WAS excellent though purely for the range of complete albums. the programme a tad clunky looking. torrents are better for films and whatnot i guess.

By the way: Does anyone here use also eMule or an equivalent ed2k/kademlia client? I ask this because here in Europe the mule is fairly popular and I was wondering if it is the same in the US.
