i'm having such a hard time picking just one. alls i know for sure though, is that anybody who picks an album that isn't a very small pressing, out-of-print record has made a huge mistake. saving an album from a burning building that could be replaced for $4 at any used cd store, when you've got something that was pressed 500 or 1000 copies... i guess i'll go with Celebrate The New Dark Age triple 7", which to my dismay was LOST DURING SHIPPING, so i never actually got it. but let's say i did. i'll save that.

That's a good point. In that case, I'd have to say the Zappa Mystery Box bootleg. It pretty much covers his whole career (albeit with sub-standard fidelity). Plus, the one I got has extensive notes someone made, so I never had to.
