The magic number is actually fifteen.

Fifteen is the stunning number of games in which the 2007 Milwaukee Brewers have relinquished leads of three or more runs. There have been some absolutely spectacular flameouts by the Brewers this year, and they have all been excruciatingly painful.

And Saturday's debacle against Atlanta was no treat.

Absent a spectacular and stirring resurrection in the final week of the season, something for which I am hoping against all reasonable hope at this point so that Cubs fans might suffer yet another indignity, the Brewers will gift the 2007 NL Central title to the Chicago Cubs.

That's a very long sentence. As a Cubs fan I can safely say that the Brewers don't need a comeback to ensure yet another Cubs indignity this season. Like Chris said, no one in the NLC is prepared to go to the post season.

the Brewers will gift

LAST TEN:
Cubs: 8-2
Milw: 5-5

STRK:
Cubs: WON 4
Milw: LOST 2

Hardly gifting, Brad. Earning is more the story.

Geovany Sota

Salute this minor league Player of the Year and his supplanting Jason Kendall behind the plate throughout the playoffs! Brian, you are not only wise with guitar, but with the ability to pinpoint future Cubs heroes.

From Cubs.com: "The Cubs named Geovany Soto their 2007 minor league player of the year. Soto, 24, hit .353/.424/.652 for triple-A Iowa this season."

The combination of Brewers wins and 2nd-place-team losses needed for them to clinch the division in 2009?

I think it's more in the sense of "If we smoke enough 420 we can make ourselves believe the Packers are Super Bowl bound!"
