It's a Farfisa "Pianorgan" chord organ, with the lid closed. The grill was broken so I replaced it with a art book print.

Sure is, but I recently switched John's Bassmaster for a Custom Reverb and his Amstel for Folger's crystals. Now I can get back to my pet project of scraping off the 'B'.

I found my first traynor amp curbside outside of an electroncs shop about 10 years ago. A minty Bassmate head. I threw it in my car and thought of it while having a beer with my amp tech later that week. I showed him the chassis and he peered in and roared, "this is a fucking plexi Marshall!!!"

After doing some research I began acquiring as many as I could whenever I had some spare cash. I learned of the TJL and Shellac connection years later.

I currently have the aforementioned bassmate, 2 bassmasters, 2 custom reverbs, a guitar mate, a ts50b, a 6x10 cab, a 4x12 large box cab, 2 4x8 pa towers (which kick ass with guitar) and 2 wedge monitors. The most expensive was my first custom reverb at $168.

If you interested check out the article in latest issue of Vintage Guitar magazine on a 50 watt Traynor and how to mod it to sound like a 50 watt Marshall. Each has the same circuit different variation.

I had the 50 watt Bassmaster and it was bullet proof with excellent Bass tone.

A friend has the Traynor 50Blue and he gets amazing guitar tone with both his Gibson and his Fender guitars. Out Marshalls a Marshall. He has a Traynor YCV-20W as well which is like the 18 watt Marshall with 2 EL 84s.

I play bass. I would love have a YBA-3.

Right now I run a YBA-200 through an Ampeg 610HLF and it is mighty sweet.

The amp is a tad 'hi-fi' and lacks the mojo of the vintage models, but it's loud and sounds decent, and doesn't weigh 97 pounds.

My 4 month old YBA-200 blew an output transformer, toasted other components in the amp, and proceeded to destroy 1/2 the speakers in an SVT 8x10" Cab. The head was under warranty and the shop guys said it was too fried to fix and they sent it back to Traynor. In the meantime, I have shows booked one after another and no amp or Cab to use. I broke down and found a Mesa 8x10" at a pawn shop for $600, and it checked out ok. The music store lent me a SWR SM-900. It sounded like poop, and got hot enough to cook an egg on after 15 min. I brought the SWR back to the store and plugged into a Fender Tube 300 Pro. I decided that I would selll the Traynor when it came back and buy the Fender. The Fender sounded huge at a show we played on Friday, but I am still tweaking the EQ. Watch out for running the YBA 200 too hot, I don't think it can take the abuse that some rock bassists like to inflict. Or maybe this is an isolated problem?

no, I'd say the YBA-200 is probably a dog. i've heard numerous bad things about it, and no good.

I think for the most part, Traynor tube amps reached their peak in about 1969. Still okay through the mid 70's, though they were already starting to cheap-out by then.

the new YCV series guitar amps seem alright, though the cabinets tend to rattle. the YBA-200 seems to be bad news.

jerm, that fender 300 is a sunn amp with a fender name on it.

i say get it. fuck the yba200. scott's right.

it's not a traynor like any of the old ones. it's cheap.
