Striking mics! Oy vey, now I've heard it all......

Please, all readers of the Electrical Audio Forums, if you ever find yourself about to strike a mic, or console, or a Manley Massive Passive (mastering version please) do the helpless equipment a favour and send it to me before you are overcome with remorse.

(Feel free to LOL toomanyhelicopters ;-) )

Seriously speaking, at my former employer we used to normal the board ourselves, we had no interns to do such things.

The way I always used them..

Strike means to physically break down/put away, as in mic stands, drum kits, amps.

Normalling is returning settings to zero or other understood default.
Therefore a board would be normalled.

Some friends of mine who are in theater use the term 'Strike' as referring to clearing the stage after the performance..... Makes sense

Ive always heard and used "Strike". Russ is spot on! But, if you strike it three times your out...or have a Turkey.
