"Love Hurts" was written by Felice & Boudleaux Bryant, veteran Nashville songwriters, and recorded by the Louvin Brothers before the Everlys did it. Since Nazareth do it slow, unlike the Louvins or Everlys, I'm betting that the Scotsmen learned it from Gram & Emmylou. I guess the Naz-boys figured that a stove was too prosaic to mention in a song by a kick-ass rock band; why else would they have changed "love is like a stove--it burns you when it's hot" to "love is like a FLAME--it burns you when it's hot." I don't know what language they speak in Scotland, but where I'm from flames are ALWAYS hot.

Still, I say NOT CRAP because I like shitty rock & roll. A lot.

Nazareth. A great band. Not Crap. No.

When I was in high school, Aerosmith, Nazareth, and Foghat were the holy trinity. Unlike posers who denounce bands that they liked in the past because they aren't "cool" to like, I proudly stand up for the bands that shaped my identity. Also, why wouldn't I like bands like the New York Dolls, Slade or the Sex Pistols with a pedgree like that?

Burt Ward, AKA Robin, was involved with Nazereth as either a tour manager or stage manager or something, for a while.

I saw them many times with my dad who was a roadie for them during the seventies.

I saw a rocking gig they played at the Queens Hall in Bradford in the early nineties. A bunch of old guys but tight as a knats arse. I think Budgie played the same gig. I love Budgie more. BUDGIEEEEE.

That is a fantastic album. I have loved it for years.
