is it prone to get broken easily?
Not really. We have only broken 2 in the last 9 years.

I've a broken one right on my desk. I was planning to send it to Beyerdynamic to have it fixed next week. Now I think I should give them a call first and hear what they say about it.

I don't think the X50 is bi-directional.

I didn't think the x50 was bi either. But It was just a hunch. Anyone know for certain?
I just won the M380 from italy on ebay today. $240 after shipping. I know it's a lot but I'm a little desperate.

I have a M380 and it's pretty rad.
I think I got it about 7 years ago for around $150. They also threw in a M422... which I've not found to be very useful... it sounded good on violin. Sucks on snare.

The TGX50 is the same mic as the currently produced Opus 65. They're physically similar to the M380, but they don't sound the same. I just sold my Opus 65 to get an RE20. I'd still like to have an M380 as well...
