Both fucking excellent bands.
If it were Black Monk Time vs. a compliation of my personal favourite Sonics tracks I would be properly torn.
As it is I vote The Monks.

I like the Monks just fine, but the vocals are a little too "zany" for me to reach for them very often.

This is pretty cool. I've never heard anything by the Monks before.
Based on this, I still like the Sonics more, but I definitely need to check out more by the Monks.

I land here, but the Monks edge out the Sonics in any case. It took me a bit to get the Sonics. The Monks blew my teeth out from the first time.
