i only heard a handful of those bands.
it is certainly missing The Green Manalishi. i guess that period of Fleetwood Mac isn't so under-the-radar though...
i'd be more interested in a contemporary JAPROCKSAMPLER list. anyone else?

This playlist has helped me discover one band: Sir Lord Baltimore and their album Kingdom Come.
Holy. Fucking. Hell.
This is so hilariously great it's unbelievable. John Garner's vocals are so unbelievably macho that it's almost like a parody. They rock like they're about to get set on fire. Good Lord. This is energy, motherfuckers...

Oh HELL yes. So monstrous-sounding, and all on a pop hit originally sung by Frankie Laine in 1963. Cope's notes in that article are incorrect though, Carl Wayne sang that song, not Roy Wood.
