We oughta lock this thread - I don't wanna know what's worse than that.

Seriously, people.

I don't mean to be a dick, but your saying this doesn't make me feel very good at all, even though I'm sure you didn't mean anything hurtful by it - not at all.

Anyhow, it's all relative. That was more difficult for me than other things that have happened because of my personal makeup. I'm sure someone bumbling around in another dimension would have chosen differently.

I hear you, but presumably it's not a matter of one-upmanship. And people have all kinds of pain; when it's serious, qualitative comparison - as any therapist will tell you - is a bullshit move. There is no abstract measure or calculus for honoring affective experience.

My toughest thing was being in love with and breaking up with someone with borderline personality disorder and an unspeakable history of family/childhood abuse. My missing years. I don't and cannot think about them.

Presumably Chris is in a really tough way and looking to commiserate. That's pretty human and I wish him and all y'all inhuman courage in making it out alive with wounds small enough for tongues to speak.

for me it was learning how to function again after being buried by severe depression and panic disorder for over a decade.

i'll probly never be 100% better, but at least i'm usually around 85%.

runner-up: walking several miles down a gravel road between cornfields to the nearest 2 lane highway while suffering from a closed head injury and multiple large crush and puncture injuries from having just wiped out my car at high speed.

also, an airbag doesn't do much for you if the steering wheel has already broken off during the first impact...but the belt/shoulder harness can still save your life.

I'm doing it right now. The amount of reading and studying is just mind-boggling. But I'm almost done (just over a month left).

I guess that grueling first year explains why there are so few lawyers around these days. I know I can never find one when i need one. My heart goes out to you, poor boy.
