Why do you care if the punishment's too severe or not?
If it was a fair fight or something then fair enough, I could understand concern over whether the sentence was fair or not.
As it stands I wouldn't care if they were sentenced to be incinerated.

i know plenty of people who were once "children, from the south" and they can

it's too bad their parents (some of whom are publicly blaming the victim) won't be charged.
this thing was one small step away from turning into a thrill kill...it's fucking sick and i hope they get put away for many decades.

you're somewhat right. but they knocked her out and then when she woke up beat her up again. not quite standard.
the main difference is they planned it before hand and videotaped it.

You guys are insane. It's a basic silly teenage fistfight. This shit happens all over the world and has since teenagers have existed.
Don't fall for the bullshit hype in the articles, it's just a fight. Watch the whole video. A bunch of girls jumped another girl. Big fucking deal.
You guys seriously would feel ok about these kids getting thrown in jail for life because of one stupid mistake they made when they were 15 and 16 years old? What the fuck is wrong with you?
How can you hold a child accountable as an adult? Well that child should have the sense an adult would. That makes no sense. That's why they are called children, because they are noty adults yet.
They did not stab the girl, they did not shoot the girl. They yelled at her and punched her and kicked her. My god, how horrifying.
It only looks 'brutal' because the girl won;t fight back.
The fucking girl should have fought back. Who doesn't fight back when being attacked like that? Why would you let people punch you and kick you without fighting back?

I doubt they'll do "life", but the victim was kept from leaving, she was far outnumbered, and she lost consciousness. The videotape proves it. I hope they get some time.
