A Little Help?

The body's ability to heal is spectacular, especially a child's body; she will probably be laughing about this with you two in a few years time. Kids do kid things all the time and bounce back. She's got two intelligent and caring adults looking out for her welfare, she's in good hands.
Sending thoughts of comfort and healing to you and yours, Mr. Dragon.

Christopher J. McGarvey wrote:My lady's daughter "swallowed" a sewing needle.
She's been taken to the emergency room as of almost 8 hours ago.
It's been determined that the needle is now in her lung.
Worst case scenario is that it may result in a collapsed lung.
Best case scenario is that they get it out with no problem whatsoever.
I'm freaking out both for myself and for my lady having to witness this firsthand.
I care about her brat so much that knowing the worst case scenario is fucking me up a lot.
I know I can only hope for the best.
There is a possibility they won't be home for a few days.
If any of you hope or pray, please keep her in your thoughts.
Shit! I hope everything goes alright getting that thing out!
Can they do it with one of those crazy-ass magnet machines? My mom works for some company that specializes in medical devices that use magnets to guide stents through into arteries and shit like that - I wonder if that would work for the needle and not have to be a surgery...
Also (if this anecdote helps any) I was a passenger in a car wreck once, and my good friend Mark got the worst of it and had a collapsed lung, but although it was scary as shit, they got him re-inflated (or whatever) and I don't think it's been any problem to him since then...
I will also think good thoughts for all of you today - I hope this can get sorted out quick and as painless as possible for her.
