i'm best friends with my last longtime girlfriend (5 years). this is made "easier" by the fact that she lives a long ways away. i'm usually kinda best friends with them when i'm with them, so why would i want to stop the friendship after the lovin', as long as it ended on relatively peaceful terms? can make it hard to move on though.

Unless it was purely sex, it's weird to have been with someone and then act like you never knew them. I try to value relationships with people and don't find it that hard to see past the breakup part - a lot of breakups are understandable.

It's only as weird as you want to make it. I'm still friends with a few and I'm in abject disgust with others.

I'm very close with my last long-term girlfriend. We were together five years; unless there's some sort of shitty emotional or physical abuse involved, i can't imagine why anyone would want to completely cut someone who was that important to them out of their lives. Be a fucking adult.
