Post-relationship decision: " Let s Be Friends...."

i'm best friends with my last longtime girlfriend (5 years). this is made "easier" by the fact that she lives a long ways away. i'm usually kinda best friends with them when i'm with them, so why would i want to stop the friendship after the lovin', as long as it ended on relatively peaceful terms? can make it hard to move on though.

don't worry, if a man really wants to be with you, he will get over it.

what do i care about whether a dude can deal with me being friends with a good friend of mine? his problem.

plus i get suspicious when i meet a girl & she doesn't have amicable relationships with her exs. it's usually for a good reason.

absolutely not crap.

wf: trying to remain connected to someone who really wronged you.

edit: sorry, fly, i missed your "not crap", as in the creeping out would be a good thing. as you were.

True.

Have a bud.

CRAP. It might work years after, when both sides no longer care. But shortly after ending of a relationship? Not a way anything good will come out it it.[/quote]

It's only as weird as you want to make it. I'm still friends with a few and I'm in abject disgust with others.

I'm very close with my last long-term girlfriend. We were together five years; unless there's some sort of shitty emotional or physical abuse involved, i can't imagine why anyone would want to completely cut someone who was that important to them out of their lives. Be a fucking adult.

NOT CRAP

(I should point out that we had to go through a period of a few months where we didn't talk or interact at all, and it helped the wounds heal over, so that can be realy helpful. But jeezus, as a permanent solution? Grow up.)
